These “seniors” made me smile last night! I am a pretty traditional girl. (Perhaps an understatement!). So the decision to allow Tyler to continue his high school experience via Independent Study was a tough one for me. I believe we made the right choice, however, skipping the annual back-to-school traditions felt a little sad for me.
His pal Jack came over last night, on the night before school was due to start for him, and the wheels started turning in my brain. I marched upstairs, pulled a school t-shirt from Tyler’s closet, tossed it to him, and told them I was going to take a picture to honor them becoming seniors! They laughed at first but then agreed to take a picture. Ty didn’t agree to change into the shirt I threw him, but I was content just the same.
A little bit later, the boys came downstairs and Tyler had changed his shirt and THEN the official back-to-school picture was taken!
They surprised me and made me smile big time! What a sweet gesture that was done just for “mom” (and Jack’s mom too!). Loved it! Go Class of 2020!
Thanks for the smile, boys!
